Kimberly Vay, EdD, LPC, CPCS

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor based in Atlanta, Georgia. I serve as President of the DBT-Linehan Board of Certification and am a DBT-Linehan Board of Certification, Certified Clinician™.

I specialize in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and trauma-focused treatment for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). I also provide postvention care following traumatic events, including suicide loss. My work is grounded in evidence-based practice and centered on fostering healing, resilience, and sustainable long-term recovery.

I am deeply committed to providing adherent, comprehensive DBT. I have completed intensive training in Radically Open DBT (RO-DBT), Prolonged Exposure within DBT (DBT-PE), DBT-PTSD, DBT for Children (DBT-C), and Level I and II Theraplay® and Group Theraplay®. I provide clinical supervision and DBT consultation to clinicians seeking certification or strengthening fidelity to the DBT model. I am currently a Trainer-in-Training (TnT) with Behavioral Tech Institute.

With over 20 years of experience, I have held leadership roles across educational, residential, and outpatient settings and have worked extensively with complex and high-risk populations. I am also a nationally recognized speaker and trainer, providing education and consultation to clinicians, organizations, educators, and families.

I am licensed in Georgia (LPC008618) and telehealth registered in Florida (#7282).

My approach to therapy is grounded in treatments that are supported by research and known to be effective. I work carefully and intentionally to provide these therapies in a way that stays true to the model.
